“ Design is a mind-game of proportions and materials. Great design requires respect and love for the process of making clothes.”

(by LIANGA)

LIANGA ( Chinese word for “two of a kind”), was created in 2007, by Lejla Salaka and Vera Couto, while lecturing fashion design at the Institute of Clothing Technology in Beijing, China.

Lejla graduated from Marymount University (USA) in 2004 and has ever since worked both as a fashion designer and a fashion stylist in her home country, Munich, Germany. Vera graduated from the Technology-University of Lisbon, Portugal and has worked both as an assistant designer and a freelance-designer since 2005.

This womenswear label was initiated with a clear vision in mind: designing and making high quality garments for the independent, strong woman. Unusual combinations, oriental influences and a contemporary feeling are paired with innovative silhouettes to create the typical LIANGA-look.

High-quality fabrics (preferably of natural fibers) are imported directly from Italy and France and are one of many reasons why LIANGA clothes are so easy to wear and remain in fashion for many seasons. Great construction and attention to detail are key to make each garment a special piece.

The designer-duo has been living and working in Europe since 2009.  In addition to the LIANGA collections, there has been a great response to their custom-making for special-occasion clothing.
